Patch Notes — Alpha-0.0.3

Release Notes

Alpha-0.0.3 introduces a wide range of improvements to gameplay, combat, activities, and overall stability. This update also includes adjustments to several Exotic weapons, a reworked HUD, and the introduction of modifiers for Adept and Master playlists.

Activities & Matchmaking

General Improvements

  • Fixed a bug that caused players to disconnect after completing a Strike.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent an activity from ending after the boss was defeated, primarily following a team wipe.
  • Objective markers are now displayed during activities, making it easier to identify the next objective.
  • Capture zones now feature clear visual indicators.
  • Fixed an issue where percentage-based objectives, such as zone captures, could display "%%" instead of "%".
  • The waiting message displayed when joining an activity queue now appears at the top of the screen.
  • When joining an activity as a fireteam leader, your fireteam will now join you automatically, provided the group does not exceed the activity's player limit.
  • Fixed the /ft invite <player> command.

Activity State & Progression

  • Switching servers, returning to the hub, or entering an activity now reloads your weapons and regenerates your health and abilities.
  • Objectives requiring enemy eliminations now track the enemies that remain alive instead of simply incrementing a counter. This prevents progression issues such as the worm spawning before the Nest Guardian in the Buried Horror Strike.
  • Slightly increased the number of eggs that spawn during egg-destruction objectives in Buried Horror to prevent softlocks.
  • Reduced the number of data cubes that must be destroyed during Myridon's second phase from 8 to 4.

Enemy AI & Performance

Harpies

Harpies have received significant AI improvements to make encounters more dynamic and challenging.

  • Harpies now fire more frequently.
  • They are no longer affected by group-firing mechanics, which normally prevent all enemies from attacking simultaneously.
  • Harpies can now frequently teleport around players and reposition themselves when players move away.

Performance & Visual Improvements

  • Reduced particle effects on certain enemy abilities to improve performance.
  • Reduced the glow effect on certain enemies to help prevent lag.
  • Fixed an issue where entity models and their hitboxes could become desynchronized.
  • 3D effects and enemy death animations no longer block projectiles or weapon shots.

Weapons & Combat

Weapon Balance

  • Critical Hit Chance: Adjusted the critical hit chance of all weapons, mostly reducing it to place greater emphasis on accurately hitting critical spots.
  • Submachine Guns: Reduced damage across all SMGs, as their previous damage output was too high.

Projectile Improvements

  • Grenade Launcher projectiles now follow a more realistic and predictable trajectory.
  • Increased projectile velocity for Grenade Launchers and Rocket Launchers.

Shield Damage

Fixed an issue where damage dealt to shields was incorrectly counted as damage dealt to health. This could cause unexpected behavior, particularly when fighting bosses.

Exotic Weapon Adjustments

Fighting Lion

Reworked the Exotic perk to improve its behavior and give its projectiles more versatility.

  • Direct hits now deal increased damage but have a reduced blast radius, instead of having no blast radius at all.
  • After bouncing, the grenade splits into three independent projectiles.

Telesto

  • Increased the explosion radius of its projectiles.
  • Projectiles can now stick to obstacles.

Pocket Infinity

Adjusted the requirements for activating True Infinity and Catalyst VII.

  • True Infinity now requires 40 stacks instead of 50.
  • Catalyst VII now requires 30 stacks.
  • Hitting a target grants 1 stack.
  • Killing a target grants 3 stacks.

HUD & Abilities

HUD Improvements

The HUD has been reworked to improve readability during combat.

  • Modified the health bar display.
  • Abilities are now displayed to the right of the health bar.
  • Improved the visibility of the key indicators displayed above abilities.

Ability Controls

The controls for the first and second abilities have been swapped.

  • F: Cast the second ability.
  • F + Drop (quickly): Cast the first ability.

Adept & Master Playlists

Modifiers are now available for Adept and Master playlists.

These higher-difficulty playlists feature built-in modifiers as well as randomly selected modifiers that change each week, adding further variety and challenge to activities.

Strike Updates

Forgotten Nexus

  • Extended the warning period before platforms disappear by 1.5 seconds, giving players more time to react.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause platforms to appear red after a team wipe.

Status Effects

Fafnir

  • Increased the number of particles displayed by Fafnir's Strong Weaken effect.
  • Fixed the visual indicator above affected targets to ensure the effect is displayed correctly.
